Location

As someone who enjoys documentary and lifestyle photography, I have a deep appreciation for images taken in the family home. There’s nothing quite like an Aussie backyard! These photos can create lasting memories for kids as they grow older. If you’re open to this idea, I would recommend tidying up the space and decluttering to minimize distractions. It's also important to consider the best lighting inside the home, so we can determine the optimal time for the shoot.

Having a list of activities to do while shooting is helpful for keeping us busy! Some ideas include swimming, baking or cooking, playing with toys, reading a book, enjoying watermelon or other fun fruits, cuddling on the floor, and tickling. Try to think of all the things you enjoy doing together that you’d like to remember when they’re all grown up. If someone has an attachment to a teddy bear or toy, consider including it in some photos, as it’s part of the memory too.

If you're looking for great outdoor spots in nature, I have a few favorites that I enjoy visiting. If you know of any good locations, please share them with me—I’m always on the lookout for new places to shoot!
